Windsor 2024 Day Four
19°C And Sunny
By: Mitch, Katie, Rae
Hello blog readers! Today started off with a nice breakfast with the team followed by our daily devotions and prayer. First stop on our journey was a place called house of hope; a home used to help shelter lower income women get back on their feet. We spent the morning shopping, cleaning, painting, organizing, and doing any other small jobs needed around the house. It was special to see the team work together to support these women and the joy we could provide for them.
For lunch we headed to Feeding Windsor where we were treated to grilled cheese and chicken caesar wraps. After lunch, a group of us went back to House of hope to finish painting their front porch and deck, while the rest headed to Bruce Park where we helped run games like 9-square and parachute, getting to know and play with the kids in the local community. Seeing all the diverse families in the community come together at the park and be in relationship with each other was super cool and we were honoured to be a part of it.
After all our fun in the sun at the park, we went back to Feeding Windsor for meatloaf and chicken for dinner, followed by a parking lot dance party. At this point we were already tired but that didn’t stop us from going to another park where we got to see the sunset over the Detroit River and raced down giant hills and taking lots of photos and videos. We then played a pro game of grounders at the dump truck shaped playground. Finally, we were able to return to Campbell Baptist Church for a chill night for a good sleep. Looking forward to a wonderful Wednesday, a thunderous Thursday, a fabulous Friday, and a stupendous Saturday for the rest of this week. Thank you for all the prayers and support you’ve given us so far and we can’t wait to share all of our stories when we return.
