Windsor 2024 Day Five
By: Owen, Luka, Abby
Howdy! We started our morning off with a delicious and nutritious breakfast. Yum yum yum! Then, we did our daily morning devo’s led by Mitch and Abby. Today we had to roll out at 8:45 for our longer drive of the week to UHC (a food bank distribution warehouse). We had lots of fun working as a team sorting food. They didn’t expect us to sort as much as we did! The food that we sorted is going to be organized into hampers and distributed to foodbanks around Tomato Town (A.K.A Leamington) and Windsor to help people in need. For lunch we ate some scrumptious sandwiches made by Thomson Baking Co. with some free Prime drinks given to us by UHC. Thanks for giving us the energy we needed!
After, we skerttttted over to Point Peele for a breathtaking hike to the southernmost point of Canada! Aidan was the first person to ever griddy at the point. Congratulations! Truly a beautiful spot. We were able to unleash our dogs (aka feet) on the sand; this was a very therapeutic experience.
During the drive to Feeding Windsor we let loose our inner party animals while singing along to some tunes. The food fed to us at Feeding Windsor was amazingly nourishing to our hungry souls. Our meal today consisted of penne, meat sauce, and garlic bread or cheeseburger and fries. We are all extremely thankful to Feeding Windsor for serving us great food like this every day!
Today was a full day of working as a team and boy did we bond today. The things that UHC is doing is truly amazing and changing so so many lives and it’s so great to have a hand in that. Getting to see and hear about all God is doing there is so amazing.
That’s a wrap folks!
